Classroom Community

I believe it is extremely important to foster a community within the classroom. By creating community the children begin to take charge of their own learning and begin to understand differences and uniqueness in individuals around them. It helps students to have a sense of ownership and committment to their peers, themselves, and the teacher. We can all work together to accomplish greater goals. I really emphasize team work and working together on projects. We all have different gifts and talents that we can learn from each other.

Our classroom requires a lot of TLC so we each have different jobs that we are in charge of each week.

The duties include:

  • plant waterer
  • calendar helper
  • line leader
  • line ender
  • door holder
  • paper passer
  • paper collector

You might be one person to the world, but the world to one young person. --Unknown--
